A Magical Wedding at Mottram Hall
This past week, I had the incredible honour of photographing Helen and Michael’s enchanting wedding at the stunning Mottram Hall in Cheshire. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a day to remember, not just for the love in the air, but for the magical touches woven into every detail of their celebration.
Four generations of family were in attendance, alongside guests who had flown in from around the world and countless friends. It was a fantastic atmosphere as hugs, kisses, love and laughter flowed amongst the arriving guests. Before too long it was time for everybody to head through to the ceremony room and take to their seats as their bride was about to arrive.
Magical touches were woven into the venue dressing
Helen and Michael are huge Harry Potter fans, and their subtle nods to the wizarding world added a touch of whimsy and charm to an already breathtaking day. Guests were treated to Bertie Bott’s Beans as wedding favours, and the tables were cleverly named after iconic locations from the books.

The ceremony and reception took place at Mottram Hall, a venue as picturesque as it is timeless. One of the standout features of the day was the wedding cake, a stunning castle masterpiece handcrafted by Helen’s talented mother, intricately put together at the venue and, complete with ‘golden-snitches’, perfectly tied into the day’s theme.

The laughter and joy were infectious, especially during the speeches by the three best men, who had everyone in stitches. After the speeches had finished, Helen and Michael took to the dance floor for their beautiful first dance, before the entire wedding joined them to kick off an evening of wand-waving fun.
